December means Great Fishing

Report Date: December 12, 2015

Fishing has been great and should stay that way.

We have been catching sailfish both big and small. We have had fish of 8 to 12 pounds as well as over 50 pounds. Mahi from 5 to 25 pounds have been active in waters as shallow as 75 feet.

If you see ballyhoo showers you need to have live ballyhoo to cast to the sails, mahi and bonitos enjoying the feast.

Bottom fishing has been a little slow. think we need to get some cooler water to wake these fish up.

Near shore there have been lots of Spanish mackerel, but they are hard to catch when the sun is high unless we have waves and cloudy water.

W did our first tarpon trip of the season this week. It resulted in two fish f 30 and 85 pounds and we jumped two more.

If you are up around Bridgeport Connecticut January 16th, I will be joining the George Poveromo Saltwater Sportsman Seminar at the Klein Memorial Auditorium.
